STEPHANIE KOZNO

In my art, I draw deep inspiration from the transformative and fleeting qualities of acrylic paint skins. These creations, formed through the processes of pouring, peeling, and arranging, symbolize the transient nature of life. The delicate and translucent nature of the skins serves as a canvas that invites reflection on the ephemeral beauty of existence—a visual meditation on life’s impermanence.

Amidst what appears to be a chaotic arrangement, there’s a deliberate exploration of the balance between chaos and order. By disrupting traditional compositional elements, my work explores the interconnected rhythms that shape our experiences, acknowledging the inherent harmony that exists between randomness and structure. Embracing the imperfections within these paint skins challenges conventional ideas of perfection. Each irregularity is celebrated, rejecting the relentless pursuit of flawlessness both in art and in life. These imperfections pay homage to the unique beauty found in our flaws, highlighting what makes us distinctly human.

Creating acrylic paint skins goes beyond the visual; it’s a meditative and repetitive practice that cultivates mindfulness. Every pour, peel, and arrangement is an invitation to be fully immersed in the moment. This intentional engagement with the artistic process bridges the gap between creativity and mental well-being, offering a quiet space for introspection.

Through these layered explorations, I aim to evoke a contemplative experience, guiding viewers into the intricate textures of impermanence, the interplay of chaos and order, and the beauty of imperfections. I invite viewers to find their own reflections within the nuanced layers of acrylic paint skins.
